Employee Recognition Program
The LOTT Recognition Committee created a new employee recognition program, called "Thanks A LOTT." This program is designed to allow any LOTT employee to recognize the
outstanding work and achievements of any coworker. Awards of recognition are then presented at each quarterly All Staff Meeting. This program is part of an on-going effort to foster teamwork and recognize the hard work of LOTT's dedicated employees.
Employee Appreciation Luncheon
Annual awards are presented at the Employee Appreciation Luncheon, held each year in the early fall. This event celebrates the accomplishments and dedication of our staff and includes awards for Commitment to Excellence, Innovation, and Leadership. Honorees in each of these categories also receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant.
The prestigious "John DeYoung Inspirational Award" was named after a long-time Treatment Plant Operator who, through his positive nature and consistent and conscientious performance, was an inspiration to all who had the pleasure to work with him. Through the years, John worked quietly behind the scenes, without complaint. He was always willing to assist his coworkers and had a kind smile for everyone, even in the most challenging circumstances. This annual award recognizes a single LOTT Alliance employee for significant contribution to creating and fostering a positive work environment. The recipient of this award earns a day off with pay.
The light-hearted "Blooper of the Year" recognizes an individual or workgroup that has made an exceptional or entertaining mistake during the previous year. The award presentation includes a description of the details of the employees amusing misadventure at work. Past recipients have received recognition for an effort to rescue baby ducks from a secondary clarifier and a futile attempt to plug an un-pluggable leak that left the employee thoroughly soaked.
LOTT also names an employee as "Employee of the Year." The criteria for this award are based on the benchmarks identified in our Strategic Business Plan. It celebrates the achievements of an employee who exemplifies dedication and success in one or more of the following areas:
- Business Management
- Communication, Education, and Partnerships
- Environmental Resource Management and Stewardship
- Human Resources and Workplace Environment
Staff tenure is also recognized by LOTT's Board of Directors, who participate in the event by presenting certificates and awards for years of service to employees. Employees also earn annual longevity pay after completion of fifteen years of service.
