Current and Upcoming Construction Projects
Maintaining and improving our wastewater treatment systems is an ongoing effort that requires many capital construction projects. These projects take place at the Budd Inlet Treatment Plant, offsite facilities, pump stations and LOTT’s sewer interceptor pipelines. LOTT has multiple capital projects underway at any one time. Check back occasionally for updates on ongoing and upcoming projects.
LOTT Construction Impacts
Some construction projects may cause disruptions beyond LOTT property boundaries. When construction is likely to cause disruptions, LOTT strives to alert residents and business owners who may be affected.
Capitol Lake Pump Station
This project replaces the coatings in the Capitol Lake Pump Station wet wells. The linings have begun to fail, creating the risk of wet well deterioration and pump blockages. Coating the wet wells protects the concrete from hydrogen sulfide, which can degrade the concrete. The new wet well coatings will increase the lifespan of concrete in the wet wells and reduce the risk of system failure during high flow situations. This project upgrades a 1,250-foot section of north outfall pipeline from 30-inch to 48-inch diameter pipe to increase hydraulic pumping capacity. The pipeline runs north from the treatment plant, through the Port of Olympia log yard and Cascade Pole site, to the northernmost point of the Port of Olympia. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2026.
